We often forget that to care for others, we must first care for ourselves.
If you don’t take care of you, who will?
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for everything else in life. That’s why it’s so essential to treat yourself with love, compassion, and care.
Grounding Into the Present
This morning, I went for a stroll through Wimbledon Park.
I bumped into a neighbour, and together we walked barefoot in the grass, a simple act that felt nourishing, refreshing, and reconnecting.
Walking barefoot (also known as earthing) has numerous benefits:
-
It helps ground your energy
-
It reduces stress
-
It reconnects you with the natural rhythms of Mother Earth
This is especially powerful if, like me, you live in a busy city like London, where it’s easy to become disconnected from nature’s slower, healing pace.
What Have You Done For Yourself Today?
Have you taken a moment—just for you—this sunny Sunday?
Something that feels light, joyful, or grounding?
If not, consider stepping outside, turning off your phone, or simply breathing deeply for a few minutes.
Your body and soul will thank you for it.
5 Simple Ways to Care for Mother Earth
Taking care of yourself and caring for the planet go hand in hand. Here are five simple actions you can start doing today to show love to Mother Earth:
1. Walk or Cycle More
Leave the car at home when possible.
Opt for walking, cycling, or public transport to reduce your carbon footprint—plus, it’s good for your body and mind.
2. Reduce Single-Use Plastics
Carry a reusable water bottle, tote bag, or coffee cup.
Small changes in your daily habits can dramatically reduce waste and pollution.
3. Eat More Plant-Based Meals
Incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet helps conserve water, reduce emissions, and support sustainable agriculture.
4. Connect With Nature Daily
Whether it’s a walk in the park, tending to a balcony garden, or simply sitting under a tree—spend time in nature. It fosters appreciation, gratitude, and care for the earth.
5. Be Mindful With Consumption
Ask yourself: “Do I really need this?”
Choose quality over quantity, support ethical brands, and recycle or repurpose what you already have.
Start With One Small Step
You don’t have to do everything all at once.
But if each of us commits to just one mindful act, we collectively begin to heal our relationship with the planet—and ourselves.
Mother Earth doesn’t need perfection. She needs participation.
Let’s start by taking care of our own energy, choices, and mindset.
With love and light,
Ani x
