Next time you feel yourself rushing around ask yourself does it really matter if you’re two minutes late?
Rushing activates your flight & fight response, spiking adrenaline & flooding your body with stress hormones.
The fight or flight response is incredibly useful when we’re in danger but we can activate this for relatively minor things too if we’re not careful.
Over a period of time this becomes chronic & can lead to a number of illnesses and conditions such as:
-Hypertension
-Chronic stress
-Adrenal fatigue
-Metabolic syndrome
-Depression
-Anxiety
-Insomnia
So when you feel yourself speeding up, slow down and focus on your breath. Inhale for a count of 8 & exhale for a count of 16.
Be mindful through your day not just 10 minutes while meditating.
Enjoy the journey as life is but a journey.
